Discussion Questions Explore a map of your interest and explain how relationships are represented on the map by referring to the following questions:           For this assignment I chose to do the “World Export Map”. This mad is color coded by what kind of exports are the biggest for each country. The supply chain is the kind of exports each country produces for another country. America is known for its capital goods but Canada is know for its motor vehicles and parts. The major players in the supply chain network are categorized for each export. As an example there are major players for Food/drink such as countries in south America and parts of eastern Africa. The major players for oil are Russia (The largest) and a dew other countries in Africa. The primary actors for exports I would probably say is China even though this map doesn’t really exactly tell this. China has a large population equally a large amount of people to employ for their large demand for their exports.  Ref

Discussion questions  Evaluate the following two ads and tell which one performs better. What are your criteria? Why?           I would say the first ad performs better because it had 53 clicks and 1,312 impressions (meaning the number of times this advertisement appeared on the individuals screen). The Click Through Rate (CTR) is 3.96% compared to 3.05% for the second advertisement making it a .91% difference (thats a pretty big difference). The cost for the advertisement is twice as much but the audience sees the advertisement more than the second advertisement that costs less. The average Cost Per Click (CPC) is also cheaper than the second advertisement and the conversation is higher by a whole number. Which pricing strategies does Airbnb use?           Airbnb started using dynamic pricing which is offering new price tips daily based on changing market conditions which was stated in the article Does the number of reviews matter for an Airbnb host?           The number of reviews does matter because people are always looking for a great experience, so a higher review number along with better comments the more people will stay. The more people that stay will help the company charge more for the listing since people will pay more for better services. This will allow Airbnb to become an outstanding seller in the long run. The article mentioned the various attributes affecting an Airbnb rental list. Which attribute matters the most? Why?           Certain photos, location, access to wifi, size of rental are the various attributes affecting the rental list. It’s hard to say which attribute means the most because individuals are typically looking at all of these and weighing the pros and co

This lets petco focus on what the customers are satisfied by and what they value the most in the products they buy from their store.  2. Week 10 - Assignment 3

The article I chose for this assignment was “When a Brand Does Well Even When It’s Called ‘Racist”. This was one of the first articles to pop up when I searched ‘Advertising Research’ in the NPR search bar, and caught my eye quickly as I was wondering what this could have been about. This article talks about how a company, Heineken, known for it’s alcoholic beverages, released a commercial ad that stated “Lighter is Better”. The ad was called out for it’s racism by Chance the Rapper. In the commercial, a light-skinned bartender slides a beer by three black people till it gets to a light skin customer adding the words at the end, “lighter is better”.            The independent variable for the article would be the commercial it’s self and the defendant being the sales of the beer itself. There were no graphs or data in this article but it does state how one morning after the commercial was released and Chance the Rapper had his comment on Twitter, “Heineken stock was up —

Week 10 Discussion Questions

What is the difference between secondary data and primary data (please refer to Chapter 9)?           Secondary Data is “pieces of information that have already been collected from other sources and usually are readily available” (Grewal, 2015, p. 213) An example of this is the availability to access statistics and information from the U.S Bureau of Census.           Primary Data is “data collected to address specific research needs” (Grewal, 2015, p. 213). An example could be a survey or an in-depth interview. Please give an example of a Portland-based business that performs marketing research. How does this company collect marketing data? List sources (i.e., URL) if necessary.           This question I was a little confused by but I looked online to help me a little bit and found that the “Portland Research Group” preforms marketing research. As stated on their very web page, “we're here to provide clients' with the straightforward information and analysis you need to un
