Week 4- Seventh Generation


Q1. What consumer trends does Seventh Generation respond to most effectively?
    Seventh Generation responds to groceries and household products as primary purchases with the consumer trends being, “going green”- meaning less harsh chemicals in their products compared to other companies. In particular, Seventh Generation responds to a new line of detergents that are more environmentally friendly to their customer's clothes. They are responding to the eco-friendliness of their detergent by advertising its contents of the detergent along with making it more expensive. They also respond by producing ad’s and giving free samples along with a black light to enhance an upfront experience for their consumers.

Q2. Which consumer trends might it be missing?
    Consumer trends as a whole- it’s missing the expansion of other products in this article but for the laundry detergent it’s self would be coupons. They are already giving free samples along with the use of black lights to show how much more efficient their detergent is - but not any discounts to help attract their consumers in trying their brand even more than they already may be. Consumers are always looking for deals and not always about what works the best- but whats the cheapest and does the job. Seventh Generation is mainly focused on those who are looking for eco-friendly detergents, which is a population to appeal to but are lacking the rest of the population for a cheap, efficient detergent.
