Google Trends - Assignment 1

For this assignment I used Google Trends. My search terms were Sugarloaf, Sunday River, and Shawnee Peak and the location being world wide for the past 5 years. For those that don't know the correlation these are all skiing mountains located in Maine. When searching these terms I had to make sure to pick the actual mountain in Maine and not just a general search term to get an accurate data outcome. These were my results by region per subject, along with the graph, which I found very interesting because other countries where highlighted for some of the terms.

As seen above the popularity of these search terms is in the winter months, which is to be expected. The most popular search term was Sunday River which I as surprised it wasn't Sugarloaf since it's typically more known because it's a larger mountain. Sugarloaf was the second most searched term with Shawnee Peak last. The search periods are significantly less in the summer months but are not a flat line or the bottom of no one searching. This is because people are still searching for these resorts out of curiosity  or even to buy tickets ahead of time for a possible discount. The terms have stayed pretty popular in the search terms only going down by a little every other couple of years but seeming to come back up after. These ski resorts relate to any topics that would be associated with the winter months. I assume that actives for winter months are less searched in the summer months because people want to find activities within that season to do. Sometimes people do search for actives outside of the season just to get a feel for what's coming ahead and what they want to do.
